Apple blossom honey is made from the nectar of apple blossoms gathered by honeybees. Its taste, aroma, flavor, and color will vary from season to season, depending on how abundant the apple blossoms are when the nectar is collected.
Mohawk Valley Trading Company’s raw apple blossom honey is derived from the nectar of a wide variety of apples that bloom in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5a to 7b in New York and Vermont
These apple species include, but are not limited to, Fuji, Wolf River, Crispen, Sweet Sixteen, Pound Sweet, Granny Smith, Winesap, Fortune, Cortland, Empire, Ginger Gold, Macoun, Spigold, Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Golden Delicious, Acey Mac, and others. This wide variety of apples gives our raw apple blossom honey its distinctive and extraordinary flavor.
Our raw apple blossom honey is as it exists in the beehive: extracted from the honeycomb, strained, and packed into glass jars. This process retains natural enzymes, yeast, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, bee pollen, aromatics, and propolis.
No pesticides or herbicides are used in the areas where we set up our bee yards. Although it isn’t labeled or certified organic, Mohawk Valley Trading Company’s raw apple blossom honey is as organic as any honey produced in the USA.
